The name of the project is Generation SiSoMo meaning Sight, Sound and Motion on screen. It is the great melting pot of creative communications and digital technologies. The world is constantly changing, evolving and improving and the teaching methods must go with the times. School subjects are seen by young people as boring and the content of the lessons is often far from their interests. The main aim of our project is to gather skills and knowledge through audiovisual productions at their interest.
The project´s goal is making the students think about their life and future as European citizens, by means of their own audiovisual productions. The students will learn to produce and manage digital files, using different kinds of new media tools, a common language and expanding their social skills to look out of their daily environment, to connect with the points of view of young people in different countries; they´ll need to discuss and get to agreements in international groups.
The teachers need to learn and think about education, their goal is to redefine their work and to propose pedagogical improvements. A final outcome of the project itself is creating a ring of permanent partners, to work on future educational and cultural project. The aim is also for both teachers and students to experience new ways of learning with, using and teaching methods when working with different kinds of media.
During the two years there will be 8 different media tasks for the students. Topics go from national and regional level in the first year to an individual level by the end of the project. Knowledge of the used software will be a be gained by both teachers and students during workshops in meetings. Back home teachers will be able to teach their students the acquired knowledge. Students who have gone abroad will function as a tutor to other (international) students in a peer-to-peer setting. An etwinning platform will be used for uploading the outcomes and the peer-to-peer learning. The project will be incorporated into the school curriculum and besides media it will work on the content of the following school subjects: Geography, Art, ICT in English, following a CLIL approach
A twinspace on e-twinning will be created and will contain outcomes produced by the different countries. The audiovisual outcomes will be accompanied by a piece of writing in English, such as a description, a reflection, as well as comments on the of media used. Besides the projectwebsite there will be a website built and used as a dissemination tool. It will contain a database of the developed lessonsplans, learning materials, new curriculum, apps and evaluation tools.
